We All Love Ennio Morricone
(Sony BMG Masterworks)

One of the undisputed pioneers of the spaghetti western instrumental and a renowned composer of some of the best movie soundtracks over the past half century, Ennio Morricone is given the tribute treatment on the 2008 Sony Classical CD release of We All Love Ennio Morricone. A sterling treatment of “The Good, The Bad And The Ugly” by Quincy Jones and Herbie Hancock—complete with strategic guitar twang from Paul Jackson Jr.—is followed by Morricone fan Bruce Springsteen, who places his choice atmospheric electric guitar licks into an orchestral “Once Upon A Time In The West.” Celine Dion, Deodato, Chris Botti, Roger Waters, Yo-Yo Ma, Mettalica and more appear here on the excellent tribute CD of freshly recorded Morricone covers capped off with three recent tracks from the living legend himself. www.enniomorricone.it / www.sonybmgmasterworks.com
