In
his 60+ year star-studded career, B.B. King has played more than 10,000
shows. Some of those shows have become immortalized on some of the
most famous live albums ever released, including 1964s Live
At The Regal. In 2006 B.B. marked a first when he recorded a live
album at two of his own nightclubs, B.B. Kings Blues Club in
Nashville on October 26/27 and his Memphis club on October 29/30 2006.
The best of those two shows can be heard and seen on the 2008 CD and
DVD release of Live! In addition to a behind the scenes making
of the DVD with a colorful booklet/artwork, the concert features new
performances of the classic King tracks The Thrill Is Gone
and When Love Comes To Town and new King covers of the
standards You Are My Sunshine and When The Saints
Go Marching In. Commenting on the live CD and DVD, B.B. adds,
I've had live shows recorded before, at festivals, Ole Miss.,
even Cook County Jail! In fact, one of them, from the Regal Theater
in Chicago, I did in 1965, was just placed in the Grammy Hall of Fame.
They were fine but they were also edited. And I've had my shows taped
at festivals, master classes and on television. But this is the first
time I've been able to show exactly what a B.B. King performance is.
Every bit of it! The action packed 12 track CD and 18 track
DVD features B.B. in supremely relaxed form performing before adoring
fans while backed up by his esteemed B.B. King Blues Band featuring
second guitarist Charlie Dennis and Calep Emphrey, Jr.
(drums). www.bbking.com
