First released back in ‘97, John Stein’s jazz classic Green Street was reissued in late 2007 by Whaling City Sound. In addition to in depth liner notes on the original release, WCS’s 2007 remaster features new notes by Stein who adds, ‘I think it was certainly one of the most focused and productive times.’ Overall, the CD is swinging, upbeat guitar /organ jazz with Stein getting solid support from his band including Ken Clark (keys), David “Fathead” Newman (sax) and Dave Hurst (drums). According the Stein, this 2007 remaster has dramatically improved the sound with the remaster also featuring two bonus tracks not included on the original CD. www.whalingcitysound.com
