Beatles
fans have patiently awaited a video compilation from the vaults of
Paul McCartney and with the 2007 triple DVD set of The McCartney
Years, their patience is rewarded. Going way back to the start
with the video for 70s Maybe Im Amazed, the
three discs cover a remarkable, prodigious output from Pauls
archives. The 406 minute DVD set proves that McCartney, as one quarter
of the Beatles magic was also the fab fours built in A&R
producer and multi-instrumentalist / arranger and was way ahead of
the pack when it came to recording that hit single and companion video.
With over 40 videos to choose from, the triple DVD brings it into
the now with McCartneys headlining performance at the 2004 Glastonbury
Festival in the U.K. and the Creating Chaos At Abbey Road documentary
of his 2005 album of nearly the same name. While we await dual disc
releases and proper mono remasters of the Beatles, The McCartney
Years will do fine. www.paulmccartney.com
