The
Doors
as youve never heard them before. This time it just might be
true. With several original, then corrected CDs released by Elektra
between 1986 and 2006, Elektra now presents all six original studio
albums from the Doors in individual, never before heard 40th anniversary
mixes complete with lengthy liner notes, out takes, rarities and 5.1
mixes. No discussion on music released in the year 1967 would be complete
without lengthy diatribes on the first Doors album from 67,
simply titled The Doors. Exploding on the scene
with Light My Fire with its unfolding pattern of unprecedented
pop brilliance, 40 years later it seems like The Doors touched a nerve
in world pop culture and have held on since 1967 and its never
let go. Regarding these 40th anniversary 07 remasters with the
bands original engineer Bruce Botnick, the three
surviving members have put together something unique. Doors keyboardist
Ray Manzarek explains: We want our fans, both new and
old, to hear what we discovered on listening to the actual multitrack
recordings. There are background vocals by Jim Morrison, piano
parts of mine that werent used, and guitar stingers and solos
by Robby Krieger that never made the original recordings that
can now be heard for the first time. In order to hear the bands
1967 album the way it was intended to be heard in the first place,
and wasnt, youll simply have to hear Rhinos 2007
40th anniversary CD of The Doors. www.thedoors.com
